Monday - Fridays were normal work weeks for us. The boys and I would drive Chris downtown to the Kierkegaard Centre sometime between 8 - 9, drop him off, then head back to the apartment to get ready for our own day. On Saturdays and Sundays, however, we had TOTAL FAMILY BONDING----some adventures went better than expected and some worse.
This was our first weekend in Copenhagen, so we wanted to see the city. We set out walking with our borrowed double-wide stroller the 3 miles to the city centre and all was going well. Chris has an incredible sense of direction so we didn't even think of bringing the map with us. He led us straight to several parks for the boys and I to come back to, and we found the zoo, and a parking deck, and a gas station, and a grocery store. Chris was really trying to help me learn my way around and feel comfortable in the city. And he succeeded in that.
THEN, with our first mission accomplished for the day, his incredible sense of direction escaped him, and we were suddenly TOTALLY LOST. We had entered a huge park (sort of like Central Park in NY), thought we came out a certain side of it, but instead came out in a direction we didn't anticipate.
Anyway, we walked and walked and walked until finally we recognized a building and made our way to the harbor. Above, you see 1 frustrated parent ready to sit, a tired 3-year old (who had walked most of the way with us holding on to the stroller), and an exhausted baby.
Once in the harbor, all was right again. Caleb slept in the stroller for a while, and the rest of us got to sit and look at the boats. There are few times in life that a good cold beer and some ice cream can't lift your spirits. With everyone happy again, we continued our walk and guess what.........we got lost again on the way home! (I'm not kidding!)

Ah, getting lost in a new city. I can just feel how frustrated you guys must have been. We have pictures of us almost at the exact same place (it seems) at the Harbor. Nyhaven, right? You look great by the way. Miss your smiling face.
I would have been very frustrated getting lost. I would definitely need the car tour. A cold beer and ice cream would work everytime for me.
