Dyrehavsbakken Park

Apparently, Kierkegaard went to this park (pronouced Deer-haves-bocken) at some point in his life, so "in the name of research" we went to check it out. It was like a state fair with rides and cotton candy stalls, but one major difference is that it is on acres and acres of land. It's not only an amusement park but a natural park with trails and all sorts of animals.
We got there fairly early on Sunday morning and none of the rides were open yet, so we walked and walked (again!) and saw lots of huge deer. Luke is, by nature, (pun intended) an explorer. He had a great time walking through the "deep dark forest in search of aminals."
We gave Luke enough money to ride 3 rides.....this old car was his first.
Then, as if the money were literally burning a hole in his pocket, he ran to this Santa Claus ride (similar to something you'd see outside a grocery store); he put his money in, and started screaming the song, "Santa Claus is coming to town." Forget blending in to the Danish-speaking world.
After that, he road on the banana boat ride during which a large elephant would spray water on you. It was a really fun day----great weather, lots of good walking, good cuddling with Caleb, and Luke had an absolute blast. When asked what his favorite part of the day was he said the Santa Claus ride----go figure!
