More August... work on the house

 An up close BEFORE picture.....we are having 2 sides of the house "re-pointed" which means they will fix the mortar between the stones.  Here you can see the gaps and loose stones.

 This picture and the next 2 are of the infamous kitchen! We hope to work on it the month of September.  This first picture is of the china cabinet which is sort of in the kitchen and sort of in the dining room.  We HOPE to be able to remove this china closet (sad cause I actually do like it) and open things up between the 2 rooms.

Our first FINISHED project of the month.......we graduated from 100 amps to 200 amps.  Hooray!  No more blown fuses every other day at 5 pm.

AUGUST ....Nana & Pops visit

 We walked around downtown Philadelphia

 We went to Cooperstown to see the Baseball Hall of Fame

And, Chris, Pops, Caleb, &  Luke went to a Phillies game.

Our newest reader...

Caleb may always be like this.  But, he was the 2 year old we said, "Hey, you wanna try using this thing?  The toilet?"  He said, "Umm, nah" for a little while.  Then, when we weren't looking, he mastered the toilet.

Likewise, with reading......about a month ago, we made a big reading push with him.  He could sound out some things and stumble through some books and we thought:  "he's right on track!"  Then, a week or so ago, he just informed us that he could now really read.  We handed him several books and he was right!  He is doing awesome and we're so proud!  Go Caleb!!
